Today’s card has a dreamy, serene feel that’s perfect for celebrating big moments with calm confidence. I used the Sunrise Sailing bundle to create this soft and scenic congratulations card—and I brought in a favorite technique: ink blending! This one is all about smooth gradients, subtle dimension, and letting that silhouette sailboat take center stage.
The background is where the magic starts—I used Blending Brushes to apply Highland Heather, Pretty in Pink, and Balmy Blue inks. The transition between the colors creates a soft sunset sky and gentle ocean horizon.
The bold sailboat, cut from Secret Sea cardstock, creates a striking silhouette against the pastel background. I added a couple of Basic White clouds and some stamped birds to fill the scene. The sentiment, “congratulations,” is heat embossed in white on a narrow Secret Sea strip for a clean finish. A few sparkly embellishments round it all out with a touch of shimmer.
When blending multiple colors, always start light and layer gradually. Use a circular motion and overlap your colors slightly for seamless transitions. And don’t forget—use a scrap piece to dab off excess ink before touching your project!
