Hooray for Birthdays with the Turtle-y Awesome Bundle

Let’s talk about this little chef who’s ready to bake up some birthday fun! This card features the adorable Turtle-y Awesome bundle from Stampin’ Up! and brings a playful spin to the kitchen with a turtle in an apron and chef’s hat—complete with cake in hand, of course! I had so much fun putting this one together and love how it’s perfect for anyone who enjoys a good celebration (and a good dessert!).

This card starts with a Basic Black base plus a Basic Black layer that’s embossed using the Turtle Textures embossing folder, giving it tons of texture and visual interest. For the focal panel, I layered a diagonal-striped piece of DSP from the Turtle-y Cute pack – it gives the design a fun, party vibe!

Our chef turtle was stamped on Shy Shamrock cardstock and colored a bit with Stampin’ Blends, then dressed up with a die-cut apron and chef hat using the coordinating dies. The birthday cake is die cut from the DSP. I heat embossed the “hooray!” sentiment in white onto a strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock and tied a simple bow using Flirty Flamingo twine to finish it off. A couple of embellishments give it just a touch of sparkle.

Don’t forget to use your embossing buddy before heat embossing—especially on darker cardstock! It helps keep those stray white flecks away and gives you a crisp, clean sentiment every time.
