I am so thrilled to be participating in a Paper Pumpkin themed blog hop today! The card I made for this hop was inspired by January’s Paper Pumpkin, but actually doesn’t use any of the elements directly from the kit. Instead, I found inspiration from those cards and created this one with the Always in My Heart Bundle from Stampin’ Up!
Isn’t it so cute?! My inspirations from the January Paper Pumpkin kit cards were: PINK!, hearts, striped background, and a scalloped border (or heart border in my case!). I love how these colors all POP together and create truly a stunning card!
I used Petal Pink cardstock to cut out the heart and detailed pieces in the middle. I knew I wanted to use that Petal Pink heart that was cut out, but I didn’t want it to be quite the same color. So, I used the new blending brushes and my Melon Mambo ink pad and sponged it! I love how it turned out. I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The heart was still a bit wet from the blending ink, so some of the powder stayed on and gave it a more rustic look – a happy accident!
