Hello, crafty friends! I’m excited to share this fun and vibrant kite popout card with you today, showcasing the upcoming Florals in Bloom suite—available starting May 6! This card features the gorgeous Florals in Bloom DSP and the Floral Impressions DSP—both of which are must-haves for your paper crafting projects. The “bloom” die-cut adds a pop of color, and the 3D effect of the kite really makes the design come to life.
For this card, I used Basic White cardstock with the Florals in Bloom DSP to create the vibrant kite design, cutting it into a diamond shape to make the kite. The background of the card uses Floral Impressions DSP, adding depth and texture to the base of the card. The “bloom” sentiment was stamped and die cut from the Sweet Blooms bundle, and I paired it with a Lemon Lolly flower for that perfect, fresh touch. To finish it off, I added a little twine and some gems for sparkle.
This card is a true statement piece with its popout feature and bold, colorful design, and I just love how the yellow and pink tones make it feel so cheerful and spring-like!

For popout cards like this one, it’s important to ensure your folds are precise to make sure the popout effect works smoothly. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Paper Trimmer to ensure perfect cuts and folds for this design.
MEASUREMENTS FOR THIS CARD:
Darling Duckling Cardstock:
- 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- 2-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ cut diagonally
- 1-3/4″ x 1-3/4″ cut diagonally
Basic White Cardstock:
- 10″ x 4″ scored in half at 5″ — make tick marks at 3″ and 7″ and score across. Then make a tick mark on the short side at 2″ and cut to make the kite (see video for a better visual)
- Scrap for Stamping and Die Cutting
Floral Impressions DSP:
- 4″ x 5-1/4″
Florals in Bloom DSP:
- 2-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ cut diagonally
- 1-1/2″ x 1-1/2″ cut diagonally
Lemon Lolly Cardstock:
- Piece for Die Cutting
