Peaceful Dock Bundle Layered Waves Card with Torn Paper Technique

This card using the Peaceful Dock bundle has a completely different feel, and I love how a few simple changes can make that happen. This one feels a little moodier and more textured… like a breezy day out on the water.

And can we talk about those torn layers for a second? The perfect touch!! This card was CASEd by Ruth Norton, and I found her card on Pinterest.

This card starts with a Thick Basic White card base, layered with Secret Sea and Basic White to create a clean frame for the design. On the Basic White layer, I added some light speckling using the Misty Moonlight blends, which gives just a hint of texture without taking away from the main elements.

The waves are the star here. I used Secret Sea and Cloud Cover Two Tone cardstock, tearing each piece to reveal that white core. By flipping the pieces and using both the light and dark sides, you get all that natural variation without needing extra supplies. The boat, stamped in Pecan Pie on Crumb Cake cardstock, is tucked right between the layers, which really helps create that sense of depth.

The paddles and sentiment are stamped in Secret Sea, and I added a double bow with Linen Thread for a soft, natural touch. A few clear Ladybug Garden Epoxy Dots finish it off and add just a little bit of shine.

When using torn paper, try flipping your pieces to use both sides of the cardstock. It gives you more variation and helps your layers look more natural and less “planned.”
