Hello, crafty friends! I’m so excited to share this adorable pleated fold card featuring the Darling Dinos bundle and the vibrant Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up! This card is full of fun colors and is all about celebrating birthdays! Whether you have a dino-lover in your life or you just want to create something playful, this card will surely bring a smile to anyone who receives it!
This card uses the playful Pleated Fold technique, which adds so much texture and interest to the background. I chose the bright and cheerful colors of the Friends of the Ocean DSP to create the pleated effect, with colors that pop from orange to pink. The pleated paper helps add a fun, layered feel to the card.
The sentiment “ROAR means HAPPY BIRTHDAY in dinosaur” is stamped in bold colors and positioned above the pleats. The little dino, perched on the top of the pleated paper, is perfectly cut out using the coordinating dies and adds a cute focal point to the card.
The Pleated Fold technique is an excellent way to add dimension to your card without needing to use a lot of layers. Simply score your designer series paper, fold them accordion-style, and attach them to your card base. The texture it adds is fantastic!

- 3″ x 11″ scored at 1-1/2″, 2″, 3″, 3-1/2″, 4-1/2″, 5″, 6″, 6-1/2″, 7-1/2″, 8″, 9″, 9-1/2″
Pumpkin Pie Cardstock:
- 3/4″ Strip
Pretty in Pink Cardstock:
- Piece for stamping and die cutting
