Watercolor Leaf Card with the Nature’s Symphony Bundle and Pretty Peacock

Hi friends! Today’s card is another beauty using the Nature’s Symphony bundle from the Nature Walk suite — and this one has a fun little inky technique that feels artsy but is actually super simple. If you love rich color and a soft watercolor look, you’re going to want to try this!

This card starts with a Pretty Peacock card base. I layered a piece of Nature Walk Designer Series Paper onto a Basic White mat to help frame that stunning deep teal color.

Next, I added a die cut Basic White rectangle from the Textured Notes dies. These are such a staple in my craft room — that stitched detail around the edge just finishes everything off so nicely. And they’re on the Last Chance list, so if they’ve been on your wish list, don’t wait!

The leaf is where the magic happens. I pressed Pretty Peacock ink onto an acrylic block, spritzed it with water, and stamped it onto watercolor paper that I had also lightly spritzed. After drying it, I stamped again until I loved the depth and variation in the color. Then I die cut the large leaf from that watercolor piece and adhered it to the card. The soft blending and variation make every leaf a little different!

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto a Basic White circle from the Stylish Shapes dies. I tied a bow with white Baker’s Twine and finished the card with a few Iridescent Pearls for just a hint of shine.

When you’re doing a watercolor block technique like this, dry your paper between layers. It keeps the colors from getting muddy and lets you build up that rich, blended look one step at a time.
