Baking Up Joy: A Homemade Treats Christmas Card

If your holiday season smells like cookies and cocoa, this one’s for you! I had so much fun creating this warm and cozy card using the Homemade Treats bundle. It captures all the best parts of Christmas baking — rolling pins, gingerbread cookies, and a little dash of magic (aka craft ink “flour”!).

This card starts with a warm brown card base and features a cheerful green gingham pattern from the Christmas Tags & More DSP. The Pecan Pie layer was ink blended with white craft ink using a blending brush and water painter to mimic that dusting of flour that happens when you’re knee-deep in holiday baking!

I heat embossed the sentiment “it’s beginning to taste like Christmas” on Real Red cardstock cut with a Perennial Postage die, then added a little gingerbread man, rolling pin, and some peppermint accents for the finishing touches.

White craft ink is a fun way to add a “baking” effect to your projects! Lightly blend it on with a brush for soft coverage, then flick on some watered-down ink with your water painter for that perfect floury texture.
