I’m back with another Christmas card featuring the Welcome Noel Bundle from Stampin’ Up!, and this one has a little bit of everything I love about Christmas crafting — pretty plaid paper, cozy little houses, and some greenery! I especially love how the A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper adds those traditional Christmas colors, while the little houses keep everything soft and cozy. And the textured arch in the background? Such a fun way to bring everything together! I started with a Basic Beige card base and layered a piece of the A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I love this plaid pattern! It’s festive without being too busy, and it makes a great background for the little Christmas scene. For the focal point, I die cut an arch from Basic Beige cardstock and embossed it with the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder. I popped it up on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it a little extra depth. I love how that texture breaks up the plaid and gives the houses a nice place to sit! Next came the fun part — building the little houses! I used the Welcome Noel Dies to cut two solid house shapes from Very Vanilla cardstock and two detailed house pieces from Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. I layered them together so the lighter cardstock shows through the windows. Then I added a Mossy Meadow garland and wreath, along with a little Very Vanilla star. Aren’t those tiny details adorable?! I also stamped some greenery from the Welcome Noel Bundle in Mossy Meadow ink onto Basic White cardstock, die cut the sprigs, and tucked them behind the houses. For the sentiment, I used the Soiree Salutations Stamp Set and stamped “May Your Days Be Bright” in Early Espresso ink onto a Basic White label cut with the Noel Tidings Dies. I added about 12 inches of Linen Thread to create a faux bow underneath the sentiment and finished everything off with a few Natural Matte Dots. There are quite a few little pieces on this card, but I think that’s part of what makes it so fun! If you’re using a busy patterned paper like plaid, try adding a solid cardstock shape behind your focal point. The embossed Basic Beige arch gives the houses a place to stand out without covering up all that pretty Designer Series Paper. It’s a simple layout trick that works with so many different card designs! I’m back with another Christmas card featuring the Welcome Noel Bundle from Stampin’ Up! And this time, we’re heading into the woods for a little Christmas village inspiration! I love how this card came together with the pine trees in the background and that adorable little house right in the center. The Mossy Meadow and Crumb Cake color combination gives everything a cozy, outdoorsy feel, and the Early Espresso house adds just the right amount of contrast. It’s a fun way to create a Christmas scene without needing a whole bunch of different colors! I started with a Mossy Meadow card base and added a piece of the Texture + Tone Mix In Designer Series Paper. I love the subtle stripes on this pattern! They add a little something extra to the background without competing with the scene on the front. For the main panel, I started with a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock and stamped pine trees in Crumb Cake ink to create a soft background. Then I stamped the row of little houses in Pecan Pie ink, die cut them out, and adhered them toward the bottom of the scene. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment in Early Espresso ink along the bottom and layered the whole piece onto a slightly larger Crumb Cake mat before adding it to the card front. Next came those gorgeous pine trees! I stamped two trees in Mossy Meadow ink, die cut them out, and layered them over the background trees. I love how the different shades of green and brown make the scene look like it has some depth! And of course, we need a little house! I used the Welcome Noel Dies to cut the house twice — once from Basic Beige cardstock for the solid backing and once from Early Espresso cardstock for all of that pretty detail. I layered the two pieces together and popped the house up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Iridescent Pearls were the finishing touch. They remind me of little snowflakes falling around the village! One of my favorite ways to create depth on a card is to stamp some images directly onto the background and then add die cut versions of the same images on top. For this card, the Crumb Cake pine trees look like they’re farther away, while the Mossy Meadow trees stand out in front. It’s such an easy trick, and you can use it with flowers, leaves, trees, and so many other images! I’m excited to share some Christmas card inspiration using the Welcome Noel Bundle from Stampin’ Up! this week! This bundle has the cutest little houses, and I love how you can mix and match them to create your own little Christmas village! Today’s card was CASEd from Amy Koenders, and I just love how it turned out! The neutral colors mixed with Mossy Meadow give this card a cozy, classic Christmas look without using the traditional red and green combination. Sometimes it’s fun to change things up a little! I started with a Basic Beige card base and added another layer of Basic Beige that I embossed with the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder. That texture is so pretty and adds just the right amount of interest without taking attention away from the little houses. On the left side, I added a piece of the Neutral Noel Designer Series Paper. I love how the pattern coordinates with the rest of the card! The houses are stamped in Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, and Pecan Pie inks using the Welcome Noel Bundle. I die cut them and popped them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the little village some depth. Behind the houses, I tucked in some Mossy Meadow greenery die cut with the Wrapped Greenery Dies, along with stamped greenery from the Welcome Noel Bundle. I love how those little sprigs peek out from behind the houses! For the greeting, I used the coordinating Noel Tidings Bundle. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating die. A little Linen Thread bow tucked underneath and a few Gold Dots finished everything off! This is one of those Christmas card designs that has lots of little details, but they all work together so nicely. And those houses? They’re just adorable! When you’re working with several stamped and die cut pieces, try layering some behind your main images and popping others up with Dimensionals. It’s an easy way to add depth to your handmade cards without making the design feel too busy. Plus, it’s a great way to use those little greenery pieces that come in your die sets!
