Friend Card with a Fresh Twist: Perfectly Pears + Painterly Pears DSP

If you’ve been loving the watercolor vibe of the Painterly Pears DSP, you’re going to swoon over this bold yet earthy friendship card! I paired the Perfectly Pears bundle with some clever die cutting and subtle stamping to let the colors shine without overwhelming the eye. This card is a great reminder that you don’t always have to stamp everything—sometimes the Designer Series Paper does the work for you!

Let’s start with that pear-fect focal image—yep, that gorgeous pear duo was die cut directly from the Painterly Pears DSP! The coordinating dies in the Perfectly Pears bundle make it easy to cut out these pretty images in seconds.

I layered the pears onto a rich Mossy Meadow circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies, which adds subtle stitched detail and helps anchor the design. Behind that, I used two torn strips of DSP—one showing more foliage and another featuring a grid pattern—for a casual, textured look.

The card base is Secret Sea cardstock, and I stamped the Stripes & Dots background using the same Secret Sea ink for a tone-on-tone finish. This adds interest without taking attention away from the center.

To finish it off, I added a narrow sentiment strip with the word “Friend” and tucked in some Crumb Cake twine and a few sparkly embellishments. Simple, bold, and beautiful!

Tear your DSP strips by hand instead of trimming with a paper trimmer. It gives your card more texture and dimension—and makes the design feel a little more organic and relaxed!
