Hello there, crafty friends! ✝️ I’m so excited to share this special Easter card that was inspired by the talented Bethany Barnard. This cross card is unique because it stands up, making it perfect as a meaningful centerpiece for Easter celebrations or as a thoughtful gift. The sentiment “He is risen” paired with soft floral patterns is a reminder of hope, faith, and renewal. Let’s take a closer look at how I created this project!
For this card, I used cardstock and DSP to create the cross. It pops up on the card, which makes it a great piece for display. The “He is risen” sentiment is stamped on a soft, round die-cut piece, adding a gentle touch to the design. The sentiment is from the Faith Collection stamp set.
The background is made with a beautiful floral print from the Subtles DSP, which adds a nice soft texture and spring-like feel to the card. I used pale purple and green tones to keep it light and fresh, perfect for the Easter season.
To help the cross stand up, I made sure to reinforce the base of the card so it would hold the cross upright. I also added some soft leaves for embellishment, making sure not to overpower the central message.
When making a standing card like this, it’s important to pay attention to the balance of the design. Make sure that the elements you use for decoration don’t take away from the main focal point—in this case, the cross. A soft background and minimal embellishment allow the cross to be the star of the show!
