Industrial Friendship Card with the Gears and Textures Bundle

I couldn’t stop playing with the Gears and Textures bundle, and this card might be one of my favorites from the bunch! It has that cool, industrial feel, but the colors, texture, and little details keep it from feeling too heavy. This design was CASEd from Stampin’ Up!, but I changed it up by turning it into a full-size card instead of a square — because sometimes a small tweak makes it feel brand new!

This card features the Gears and Textures bundle along with the Fabulous Sayings stamp set, which is Stampin’ Up!’s January Product of the Month. The patterned paper comes from the Boho Vibes Designer Series Paper, which adds a fun mix of patterns in the background.

The Secret Sea cardstock layer is stamped with images in both full-strength ink and stamped-off ink to keep things interesting without feeling busy. The gears were heat embossed in bronze on Basic Gray cardstock and then die cut, which gives them that textured, rusty, worn-metal look I love for this style of card!

The sentiment is from Fabulous Sayings and is die cut using the Gears and Textures dies, along with the subtle bronze strip underneath. A simple bow tied with white baker’s twine softens the overall look, and the Faux Bronze Pentagon embellishments tie in perfectly with the embossed gears.

When a card has lots of darker colors or bold elements, adding something soft — like twine or a simple bow — helps balance everything!
