Hello, crafty friends! 🌊 I am so excited to share this fun fold card featuring the Ocean Friends bundle from Stampin’ Up! and the delightful, colorful starfish background. This card is a blast from the past, as it was inspired by one of the first cards I made over 9 years ago. It’s amazing to see how much my style has evolved, but I still love creating these special fold cards!
This fun fold card is a Double Card Fun Fold, which means it opens in two places, creating an interactive and unique design. I’ve used the Ocean Friends bundle to bring some sea life to this card, with the adorable starfish background stamped in bright colors. The playful “Love You” sentiment on the inside, framed by a stitched circle die, pops against the starfish pattern.
The inside of the card features a crisp, clean layout that continues the colorful theme, making it just as fun to open as it is to look at. The card features a layered look with bright accents, adding depth and dimension.
For this card, I also used the Friends of the Ocean Designer Series Paper for the background, adding a gentle texture that complements the overall theme without competing with the design.

When creating fun fold cards like this, make sure to pay attention to your folds and creases. A bone folder is your best friend in getting sharp, clean lines. Also, consider where to add your embellishments to balance the space and keep the card visually engaging. In this case, the addition of the sequins adds just the right amount of sparkle without overwhelming the design.

I made the card on the right over 9 years ago during an in-person class my upline, Sue Kremer, hosted. Both the purple and pink in this card are now retired. I love that you can update with new colors and stamps and make a totally new card!
MEASUREMENTS FOR THIS CARD:
Melon Mambo Cardstock:
- 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored in half at 4-1/4″, then cut 2″ off one side
Basic White Cardstock:
- 8″ x 5-1/4″ scored in half at 4″
- 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″

Coastal Cabana Cardstock:
- 3-1/8″ x 4-3/8″ embossed with Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder
- ~1-3/4″ Circle Die Cut from Stylish Shapes Dies
Pumpkin Pie Cardstock:
- 3-1/8″ x 4-1/8″
Friends of the Ocean DSP:
- 3″ x 4″ (starfish)
- 2″ x 5-1/4″ (Melon Mambo waves)
