Sweet Bugs Caterpillar Card with Forever Plaid Texture

Okay, this card might officially push the Sweet Bugs bundle into one of my favorite bundles of all time! That little caterpillar? I mean… come on. This design feels cozy, a little earthy, and still totally playful — which is such a fun combo for everyday cards.

This card uses the Sweet Bugs bundle from Stampin’ Up! with a Mossy Meadow card base and an extra Mossy Meadow layer embossed using the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder. That embossed background adds so much texture and gives the card a nice, sturdy feel without needing a lot of extra layers.

Across the center, I added a strip of Cute As a Bug Designer Series Paper, matted with white cardstock and finished with angled ends on both sides. The Petal Pink arch die cut from the Everyday Arches dies softens everything and makes the caterpillar stand out without overpowering the design. The sentiment is stamped on Old Olive cardstock, tying in perfectly with the greens throughout the card.

The caterpillar is stamped, colored, and die cut, and honestly, it’s just so adorable! To finish things off, I added a few Iridescent Pearls for a subtle bit of shine that catches the light just right.

Using tone-on-tone embossing, like Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow, adds interest and texture without making the card feel busy or overwhelming.
