Sweet Bugs Hello Friend Card with Soft Blended Scene

This card is one of those that just feels good to look at. The Sweet Bugs bundle really shines when you let the images tell a little story, and this one feels like a quiet, happy moment you’d want to step into. Soft colors, gentle texture, and the cutest little critters!!

This card uses the Sweet Bugs bundle with a Pool Party card base and a coordinating Pool Party layer embossed with the Lovely Stripes 3D Embossing Folder. I love how that subtle stripe texture adds interest without competing with the scene on top.

The focal panel is die cut using the Branching Out dies and turned into a soft little garden scene. I blended Pool Party and Old Olive ink using blending brushes, then added stamped grass and flowers in Old Olive ink to ground everything. It’s simple, but it gives the card so much depth and warmth.

The sentiment is stamped right at the top of the scene in Tuxedo Black Memento ink, keeping it clean and easy to read. The ladybug, bee, and flowers are stamped, colored with Stampin’ Blends, and die cut, then layered onto the scene to bring everything to life. I finished the card with a bit of white twine and a couple small embellishments for a little extra detail.

Blending inks lightly and building color slowly makes it easier to create soft scenes without harsh lines — especially when you’re working with lighter colors like Pool Party.
