Sweet Friend Card with the Turtle-y Awesome Bundle

Today’s card is full of charm, cool colors, and one turtle who’s enjoying a well-deserved treat! I used the Turtle-y Awesome bundle from Stampin’ Up! along with the Turtle-y Cute DSP to make this fun and friendly card—perfect for sending a little happy mail to someone special.

The card base is Pretty Peacock, and I stamped tone-on-tone balloon and party hat images from the Turtle-y Awesome stamp set directly onto the background for a subtle, festive look.

Layered on top is a striped pattern from the Turtle-y Cute DSP, which adds the perfect pop of color and ties in the blue and green theme. I die-cut and stamped the turtle on Granny Apple Green cardstock and gave him an extra sweet touch – a stamped and colored ice cream cone in his hand!

The sentiment “Sweet Friend” is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on a small Basic White strip, and I added a little bow using Shy Shamrock Baker’s Twine for the finishing detail.

When working with bold patterns like stripes, offset them with solid-colored images or simple layering shapes to keep the design from feeling too busy. And don’t be afraid to let your critter hold a treat – it adds so much personality!
