Woolly Friends Card with Soft Layers and Texture

This card is one of those that feels light, happy, and just plain fun to put together. Soft colors, simple layers, and a sweet little sheep that totally steals the show. It’s the kind of card you make when you don’t want to overthink things but still want something that feels finished and thoughtful.

This card features the Woolly Friends punch bundle, and I love how easy it is to build around that punched sheep. The background designer paper is from the new Splash of Sparkles DSP, which adds a soft wash of color without being busy. Across the center, I layered in a strip of the plus-pattern paper from the Easter Joy DSP pack — it brings in just the right amount of playful detail.

Behind the focal area, I tucked in a piece of vellum to soften the layers and help everything blend together. The sentiment sits on a simple white strip, letting the pun shine without competing with the patterns. To finish it off, I added Brushed Brass Butterflies for a little shine and a bit of movement, plus some Linen Thread for texture.

When you’re mixing patterns, vellum is your best friend. It acts like a buffer layer and helps everything feel calmer and more cohesive.
