First Day of School Card for My Niece

Happy Monday! Last week, my niece started 1st grade. As expected, I made her a card to celebrate the big day! I used the Sweet as a Peach stamp set and turned the peaches into apples. I’ve seen a few people do this, and thought it was so clever!

Such a fun card! Even though my niece is only six, she’s so smart and told me “these apples look like peaches.” So, I had to come clean and tell her that they were peaches but I used different colors to make them look like apples – haha!!

I used Poppy Parade, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green and Petal Pink inks. The cardstock is Poppy Parade, and the sentiment comes from the Create With Friends stamp set.

Poppy Parade Cardstock
  • 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored in half at 4-1/4″
  • 5″ x 3-3/4″
  • Scraps for the sentiment
Basic White Cardstock
  • 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″
  • 5-1/2″ x 4″ for the inside
Thanks for stopping by today – are your kids/grandkids/etc back in school? Here’s hoping they have a great year!
