Freebie Friday: Pretty Poinsettia Christmas Card with the Stampin’ Hot Foil System

Welcome back! Today’s card combines a classic Christmas flower with one of my favorite new crafting tools—the Stampin’ Hot Foil System! The elegant gold foil background adds just the right amount of sparkle while letting the layered poinsettia remain the star of the card.

This design features the Pretty Poinsettia bundle paired with the Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die for a timeless holiday look that’s simple, elegant, and easy to recreate in different color combinations.

The card starts with a Thick Basic White card base topped with a Basic White panel created using the Stampin’ Hot Foil System, the Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die, and Gold Foil Rolls. The delicate foil pattern creates a beautiful backdrop without overpowering the focal point.

The layered poinsettia is die cut from Cherry Cobbler cardstock with Peaceful Pine leaves and a Gold Foil center. After assembling the flower, it’s adhered to a die cut Stylish Shapes circle cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, then adhered to the card with Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock and finishes the card with a warm, classic feel. A few Flower Accents complete the design with just the right amount of sparkle.

When using a detailed hot foil background, keep the focal image bold and simple. The combination creates an elegant card without feeling too busy, allowing both techniques to shine.
