Ocean Friends Gift Box

Hey, crafty friends! 🌊 I’m sharing a fun and colorful project today—a gift box featuring the Ocean Friends bundle and Friends of the Ocean DSP. This box is perfect for any beach lover or anyone who loves all things coastal. I created this to hold small treats or gifts, and the bright crabs on top give it the most cheerful touch!

This box features the adorable crabs from the Friends of the Ocean DSP (no stamping needed!). The bundle and patterned paper create such fun dimension and detail, making the crabs pop off the box lid. The box bottom is Calypso Coral cardstock and the lid is from the Friends of the Ocean DSP – the soft striped pattern perfectly complements the lively crabs.

I added a little extra detail by using a die-cut circle from the Spotlight on Nature dies to frame the crabs. The finishing touches include a few sparkly gems to add some shimmer and elegance. This is a perfect gift box to make for a birthday or beach-themed event!

When making a 3D project like this, it’s always a good idea to use sturdy cardstock for the base of your box. It ensures the box can hold its shape and support whatever treat or trinket you decide to put inside. You can also decorate the sides of the box with patterned paper like I did here, or even stamp directly onto the box for added texture!

MEASUREMENTS FOR THIS BOX:

Calypso Coral Cardstock:

8″ x 8″ scored on all four sides at 2″ (or just a smidge over 2″ so the lid fits on a bit better)

Friends of the Ocean DSP:

6″ x 6″ scored on all four sides at 1″
Crabs die cut

Basic White Cardstock:

~3-3/8″ Circle die cut from Spotlight on Nature Dies

Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock:

Scraps to die cut Seaweed

Pastel Ombre Glimmer Paper:

Scraps to die cut Coral
