Safari Smiles Bundle Card with Soft In Color Layers

This week I’m featuring the adorable Safari Smiles bundle, and I couldn’t think of a sweeter way to start than with this soft monochromatic card. Sometimes limiting your color palette creates the biggest impact, and these charming elephants are the perfect example of that!

This card begins with a Hydrangea Hue card base, topped with an additional Hydrangea Hue layer embossed using the Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder. The subtle texture adds so much interest to the card.

To help the focal image stand out, I added a layer of vellum behind the elephants. The elephants were stamped in Hydrangea Hue ink onto Cloud Cover cardstock, then die cut using the coordinating dies. This one is for those who don’t love coloring—the tone-on-tone effect creates such a clean and elegant look.

For a pop of contrast, I die cut two grass pieces from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and tucked them around the elephants. The sentiment is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe ink on Basic White cardstock, adding just the right touch of warmth. A few Shimmering Dots complete the design with a little sparkle.

When working with a monochromatic color scheme, add texture through embossing folders and vellum layers to create depth without introducing additional colors.
