Simply Leaves Fall Card with Warm Autumn Colors

There’s just something about fall colors that makes me happy! This week I’m creating with the Simply Leaves Bundle from Stampin’ Up!, which includes the Simply Leaves stamp set and coordinating leaf punch. I love a good punch bundle, and this one makes it so easy to create a pretty card without a lot of fuss.

Today’s card was CASEd from Sam Hammond Donald, and I loved her layout so much! The combination of gingham leaves, warm autumn colors and just a little bit of texture makes this such a fun design.

I started with a Pecan Pie card base and added two layers of Basic White cardstock. On the smaller Basic White layer, I stamped the gingham leaf from the Simply Leaves stamp set in Crumb Cake ink. I love that gingham leaf!!

For the main cluster, I stamped three leaves onto Basic White cardstock using Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze and Golden Glow inks. After punching them out with the coordinating leaf punch, I arranged and adhered them over the stamped background.

A Linen Thread bow tucked behind the sentiment adds just the right amount of texture. The “Thinking of you often” sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink, and a couple of Faux Bronze Pentagons finish everything off with a little extra detail.

The warm Stampin’ Up! fall color combination is definitely one of my favorite parts of this card. Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Golden Glow, Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake were practically made to hang out together!

When you’re creating a cluster with punched shapes, try overlapping them at different angles instead of lining them up evenly. It makes the arrangement feel more natural and gives you lots of flexibility when deciding where to place your sentiment.
