Freebie Friday: Elegant Thank You Card with the Begonia Belle Stamp Set & New Hot Foil System

I have to admit…I was pretty excited to get my hands on the brand new Hot Foil System! If you’ve never tried hot foiling before, it’s such a fun way to add a little extra wow to your cards. The shiny silver leaves on this one catch the light beautifully, and they pair perfectly with the soft floral images from the July Product of the Month, the Begonia Belle stamp set.

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base and layered on a piece of two tone Pretty Peacock cardstock. Before putting the card together, I used the new Botanical Glow Hot Foil Die with Silver Foil to create the leafy background. It’s one of those details that’s hard to capture in a photo, but in person it’s absolutely gorgeous!

To soften all that shine, I stamped two flowers from the Begonia Belle stamp set in Lost Lagoon ink, fussy cut them out, and popped them up with Dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink on a strip of Basic White cardstock and added over the flowers. I finished everything off with a few Moody Palette Glossy Dots.

This card feels elegant without being complicated, and I can already tell that hot foiling is going to be one of those techniques I’ll be reaching for again and again.

If you’re using hot foil on a bold cardstock color like Pretty Peacock, silver foil really pops. Keep the rest of the card simple so the foiled background has a chance to shine.
