Freebie Friday: Painted Pumpkins Fall Card

There’s just something about pumpkins and pretty fall paper that makes me happy! This card features the Painted Pumpkins Bundle along with several patterns from the Painted Patch Designer Series Paper. I love that using narrow strips lets you show off several of those patterns on one card without any one of them taking over the design.

I started with a Thick Basic White card base and kept the rest of the background nice and clean so all of those fall colors could really stand out. I cut the Painted Patch DSP into a mix of 1″ and 1/2″ strips, banner cut the bottoms, and layered them onto Basic White cardstock. A 1/2″ strip of Basic White cardstock across the top gives the DSP strips a nice finished edge.

The sentiment from the Painted Pumpkins Bundle is stamped in Secret Sea ink. For the focal point, I die cut the pumpkins from Cajun Craze Two Tone Cardstock, using Crumb Cake cardstock for the stems and Pool Party cardstock for the leaf and vine. I really like that little bit of Pool Party mixed in with the traditional fall colors! A few Pool Party Painted Patch Dots finish everything off.

Designer Series Paper strips are a great way to use up smaller scraps! Try mixing different strip widths like I did here—it adds a little more interest while still keeping the layout simple and easy to recreate.
