Radiant Sunflowers Friendship Card with Sunflower Fields DSP

Here’s my next card with the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle! This time I really wanted to let the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper do a lot of the work. There are so many pretty patterns in this pack, and using two of them together gives this card plenty of color and interest before you even add the stamped sunflower!

I started with a Cajun Craze card base and added a fun diagonal layer of Sunflower Fields DSP. I cut the DSP to 4″ x 5-1/4″, then cut it diagonally from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. One half went onto this card, and the other half is ready to use on another card — I always love when one cut gives me a head start on my next project!

For the focal layer, I chose another pattern from the Sunflower Fields DSP, matted it onto Basic White cardstock and adhered it with Dimensionals. The sentiment from the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto a Basic White label cut with the Nested Essentials Dies.

I stamped the sunflower and leaves in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White cardstock, then colored them with Golden Glow, Bronze and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The flower coordinates beautifully with the sunflowers in the DSP without needing to match them exactly. A few Gold Dots scattered around the focal pieces add the finishing touch.

Try cutting a full card-front layer of Designer Series Paper diagonally and using only half on your card. You’ll get an interesting background without covering the entire card base, plus the leftover triangle is already cut and ready for another card!
