Freebie Friday: Radiant Sunflowers Diamond Bridge Fun Fold Card

I have another Radiant Sunflowers card to share, and this one looks much more complicated than it really is! We made this Diamond Bridge fun fold card for our September Team Meeting Mystery Card, and I love how it turned out. It has lots of dimension when it’s standing up, but the actual construction is surprisingly easy!

I started with a Cajun Craze card base and added a piece of Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper before scoring the card in half. Another Cajun Craze layer creates the center portion of the Diamond Bridge fun fold, with two more pieces of Sunflower Fields DSP adding pattern and color.

The fun part is the little mechanism that holds the sentiment panel out in front of the card. I stamped the sentiment from the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle in Early Espresso ink on Basic White cardstock, matted it with Cajun Craze and adhered it across the mechanism.

Of course, this fall sunflower card needed a big sunflower front and center! I stamped the sunflower, three leaves and butterfly in Early Espresso ink and colored them with Golden Glow, Bronze, Old Olive and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends. The warm colors work so nicely with the Cajun Craze card base and Sunflower Fields DSP.

I finished the card with Gold Dots and Wink of Stella on the butterfly for just a little extra shine. Since the Diamond Bridge fun fold is all about that dimensional front, I added Basic White layers to the back of the card so there’s still plenty of room to write a message.

Don’t let a dimensional fun fold intimidate you! When you’re trying a new fun fold card design, score and fold your card base first, then dry-fit the additional pieces before adding adhesive. It makes it much easier to see how everything works together.
