Web of Fun Happy Halloween Spider Card

I have one more spooky card to share using the Web of Fun Bundle! This time I kept the color palette mostly gray and black, then brought in a pop of Pumpkin Pie for the greeting. I really like how the stamped spiderweb background and the large die cut web give this card lots of detail without needing a bunch of different supplies.

I started with a Basic Gray card base. On another piece of Basic Gray cardstock, I stamped the spiderweb images from the Web of Fun Bundle in Basic Gray ink to create my own background paper. I matted that layer onto Smoky Slate cardstock before adhering it to the card base.

For even more spiderwebs, I die cut the large web from Basic Black cardstock and layered it over the stamped background. I love the combination of the subtle stamped webs underneath and the bold black die cut web on top!

The Basic White label was die cut using the Web of Fun Bundle. I stamped “Halloween” in Pumpkin Pie ink, then added “Happy” from the Soiree Salutations Stamp Set in Basic Gray ink. That little bit of Pumpkin Pie is just enough color to break up all the gray and black.

The spider was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock and added alongside the greeting. I also used a journaling pen to draw a thin line from the spider up toward the top of the card—it’s such a simple little detail, but it makes it look like the spider is dangling from its web! A ghost and bat from the Bats, Ghosts and Dots embellishments finish off the card.

Try using your stamps to create your own Designer Series Paper! Repeating the spiderweb image in the same color as the cardstock gives you a subtle tone-on-tone background that adds interest without competing with the rest of your card.
