Freebie Friday: Safari Smiles Animal Cracker Treat Bag

I always love having a little bonus project to share, and this one might be the cutest project of the week! When I saw the animals in the Safari Smiles bundle, I immediately thought they would be perfect paired with a bag of animal crackers.

This project combines the Safari Smiles bundle with the Playful Packaging bundle to create a quick treat bag that’s perfect for party favors, classroom treats, zoo-themed birthdays, or just a little surprise for someone special.

The topper starts with Early Espresso cardstock and a checkered background stamped in Early Espresso ink. The tone-on-tone look adds texture while keeping the focus on all the fun safari details layered on top.

I used several die cuts from the Safari Smiles bundle to build a little scene across the front. The grass is die cut from Crumb Cake cardstock, the twig from Basic Beige cardstock, the rock from Basic Gray cardstock, and the water from Pool Party cardstock. These simple elements work together to create a cute safari setting for the elephant.

The elephant is stamped in Basic Gray ink onto Gray Granite cardstock and then die cut with the coordinating dies. I love how the gray tones stand out against the dark Early Espresso background.

For the sentiment, I stamped “Just For You” in Early Espresso ink and die cut the label using the Playful Packaging dies. A few Array of Dots embellishments add the perfect finishing touch.

The completed topper is attached to a 4″ wide cello bag filled with animal crackers. It’s a simple project, but one that is guaranteed to bring a smile!

Treat bags don’t have to be complicated. Start with a simple topper and let a few coordinating die cuts do the decorating. You’ll get a polished look without spending a lot of time creating each project.
