Splash and Relax Summer Floaties Card with Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP

This week I’m featuring the adorable Splash and Relax Bundle, and I couldn’t be more excited! This bundle is packed with fun summer images that are perfect for cheerful cards, vacation memories, and sending a little sunshine through the mail.

Today’s card combines bright summer colors, playful floaties, and the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper for a fresh and happy design that’s sure to make someone smile.

This card starts with a Thick Basic White card base layered with a soft polka dot pattern from the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper. For the focal panel, I added a layer of Pretty Peacock cardstock and topped it with another coordinating pattern from the same DSP collection.

The sentiment is stamped in Pretty Peacock ink onto a Basic White banner die cut using the Stylish Shapes Dies. The greeting fits perfectly with the playful summer theme and helps tie all the elements together.

The real stars of this card are the adorable floaties and beach ball from the Splash and Relax Bundle. The top floatie is stamped using both first and second generation Pool Party ink to create subtle depth and dimension. The second floatie is stamped in bright Daffodil Delight for a cheerful pop of color. I added coordinating handles die cut from Pretty Peacock and Daffodil Delight cardstock for extra detail.

To complete the scene, I stamped the beach ball in Pool Party and Pretty Peacock inks and layered it near the sentiment. A few Array of Dots embellishments finish off the design and add just the right amount of shine.

Try using first and second generation stamping on the same image to create instant shading and depth without needing additional ink colors. It’s an easy way to add visual interest while keeping your supplies simple.
