Safari Smiles Elephant Congratulations Card

I think this elephant might be one of the cutest images in the entire Safari Smiles bundle. The little bird perched on his back just makes me smile! This card came together with a simple layout, but all the little details work together to create a fun safari-inspired design.

This card starts with a Mossy Meadow card base with a Basic White panel layered down the center. To add a little pattern and interest, I used a piece of the Silly Old Bear Designer Series Paper along the bottom of the card.

Across the center, I layered a strip of Mossy Meadow cardstock stamped with paw prints in matching Mossy Meadow ink onto a slightly larger Basic White strip. I love how this creates a subtle detail that ties into the safari theme without overwhelming the card.

The focal point is the sweet elephant stamped in black ink onto a Basic White circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. I colored the elephant with Crumb Cake Blends and added a bit of ground beneath him using the Deep Combo Pack Blends. The little bird is stamped in Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock and adds the perfect pop of color against all the earthy tones.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock, trimmed down, and layered right across the circle. A few Moody Palette Glossy Dots finish off the card with just a touch of shine.

Tone-on-tone stamping is one of the easiest ways to add interest to a card. Stamping the paw prints in Mossy Meadow ink on Mossy Meadow cardstock adds texture and pattern without introducing another color.
