Freebie Friday: Simply Leaves Accordion Z Fold Fun Fold Card

We’re wrapping up my Simply Leaves projects with a fun fold! This Accordion Z Fold card looks pretty impressive when you open it up, but I kept the actual design nice and simple with a monochromatic Peaceful Pine color palette.

I also used both sides of the In Color Gingham Gallery Designer Series Paper, which is such an easy way to add different patterns while knowing everything will coordinate perfectly.

The base of this Accordion Z Fold card is Peaceful Pine cardstock, with strips of the In Color Gingham Gallery DSP added to the accordion sections. I kept everything monochromatic, so the different gingham patterns add plenty of interest without needing a bunch of different colors.

There’s also a smaller folded “tent” section on the front of the card. I added the other side of the Peaceful Pine Gingham Gallery DSP to one panel, which gives you another pattern as the card opens and expands.

For the focal point, I stamped one of the leaves from the Simply Leaves stamp set in Peaceful Pine ink onto a Basic White square. The “Thanks” sentiment is also stamped in Peaceful Pine on a Basic White banner die cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies. I layered the sentiment over a Linen Thread bow and added a couple of Faux Bronze Pentagons for just a little contrast.

Inside the card, I added a large Basic White panel for writing a message and stamped a few Simply Leaves images in Peaceful Pine around the edges. I love carrying a little bit of the design to the inside, especially on a fun fold card where the inside is such a big part of the finished project!

Monochromatic colors are perfect for a busy fun fold! When the card itself has lots of folds and layers, sticking with one main color keeps everything looking coordinated and lets the fun fold be the star.

It’s a great way to make a card feel extra special, and the Simply Leaves Bundle works beautifully with all of those gingham panels.
