Freebie Friday: Sunset Coast Congratulations Card

Every once in a while, you make a card where the paper does almost all the work…and this is definitely one of those cards! The gorgeous Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper immediately caught my eye, and I wanted to create a design that let that beautiful sunset shine.

I started with a Basic Black card base and covered the entire front with a piece of Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper. I die cut the sailboat scene from another piece of Basic Black cardstock and popped it up with Dimensionals. It creates the look of looking through a window at a sailboat drifting across the water at sunset, and I just love the effect – it really makes those sunset colors pop!

The congratulations sentiment is stamped in black ink on a Balmy Blue banner from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I tucked a simple Linen Thread bow behind the sentiment for a little texture, then finished everything off with a few Sunset Sparkle Sequins. It’s a quick card to make, but it looks so elegant!

When you’re working with beautiful patterned paper, don’t feel like you have to cover it up! A simple die-cut frame is a great way to highlight your favorite designs while adding depth and dimension.
