Looking Up with the Silly Old Bear Suite

One of my favorite things about the Silly Old Bear Suite is how it captures those quiet, thoughtful moments that make the Hundred Acre Wood so special. This card features Winnie the Pooh sitting among his honey pots with the encouraging reminder, “It never hurts to keep looking up.” It’s a simple design with lots of texture that lets the beautiful scene do all the talking.

This card uses both bundles from the Silly Old Bear Suite. I started with a Golden Glow card base and added a second Golden Glow layer embossed with the Hundred Acre Woods 3D Embossing Folder for lots of woodland texture. The scenic Designer Series Paper from the Silly Old Bear DSP pack was layered onto Very Vanilla cardstock before being adhered to the card front, creating the perfect backdrop for Pooh.

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on Early Espresso cardstock to make it really stand out against the warm colors. I stamped the honey pots in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock, die cut them, then cut the image in half so I could tuck Winnie the Pooh right in the middle. Pooh was stamped in Early Espresso ink on Very Vanilla cardstock, colored with Golden Glow Blends, and popped up with Dimensionals to add a little depth. A few Faux Bronze Pentagons were the perfect finishing touch.

Don’t be afraid to cut your die cut images apart! Splitting the honey pots allowed Pooh to sit naturally in the scene and created much more dimension than placing everything side by side.
