Sweet Friendship Card with the Silly Old Bear Suite

Some cards just have a way of warming your heart, and this one definitely falls into that category. Pooh and Piglet have been symbols of friendship for generations, and pairing them with the sentiment “old friends are the best friends” makes this a card that’s perfect for letting someone know you’re thinking of them.

This card combines both bundles from the Silly Old Bear Suite: Sweet Old Friends and Sweet Words + Labels. I started with a soft Barely Blush card base, then layered a piece of the Barely Blush gingham Designer Series Paper from the Silly Old Bear DSP pack along the bottom of a Basic White layer. A strip of Barely Blush ribbon adds just a little extra texture before the entire layer is adhered to the card front.

The decorative label from the Sweet Words + Labels bundle was die cut from Barely Blush cardstock and lightly stamped with the bee image in Barely Blush ink for a subtle background detail. I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso ink, die cut it with one of the coordinating label dies, and layered it across the frame. Pooh Bear and Piglet were stamped, colored with Barely Blush and Golden Glow Blends, die cut, and popped up with Dimensionals to create the focal point. A few Golden Glow Butterflies finish the card with just the right touch of sparkle.

When you’re working with soft colors like Barely Blush, try stamping a background image in the same ink color. It adds interest and texture without competing with your focal images.
