Oh My Fright Halloween Card with a Spooky Die Cut Scene

Here’s another Oh My Fright card, and I think this one is such a fun mix of spooky and cute! I went with lots of gray and black, then added that Golden Glow moon for the perfect little pop of color. And that cat with those big white eyes just makes me smile!

I started with a Smoky Slate card base and added another layer of Smoky Slate that I embossed with the Swirls of Magic Embossing Folder. I love how much detail the embossing adds while still keeping the background nice and neutral.

For the focal point, I die cut the tag from Basic Gray cardstock and added Black Iridescent Ribbon through the top. Then I created a little Halloween scene using several of the dies from the Oh My Fright bundle. The spooky tree is Basic Black, the clouds are Very Vanilla and the moon is Golden Glow. That one bit of warm color really stands out against all of the grays and black!

The cat was embossed with black embossing powder onto the dark side of Basic Black Two-Tone Cardstock. I used a White Gel Pen to color in its eyes, which makes them pop and gives that little cat so much personality!

The “Trick or Treat” sentiment was stamped in black ink onto Basic White cardstock and added across the bottom of the tag. I finished the card with a couple of Wonderful Stars Puffy Stickers.

When you’re creating a mostly neutral card, try adding just one contrasting color to draw attention to your focal point. The Golden Glow moon is a small part of this card, but it really stands out against the Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Basic Black.
