Oh My Fright Halloween Card with a Witchy Cat

We’re continuing with the Oh My Fright bundle this week, and this time we have a cute little witchy cat! I love that this card has a more muted Halloween color palette — lots of Basic Gray and black with just a touch of Crumb Cake. It’s spooky without being too spooky!

I started with a Basic Gray card base and added a layer of Frightfully Fun Designer Series Paper. That spiderweb pattern makes such a fun background and sets the Halloween theme right away.

For the focal point, I die cut the tag from the Oh My Fright dies using Shimmering Stripes Specialty Paper and adhered it to the card with Dimensionals. I added another pattern from the Frightfully Fun DSP to the tag for a little extra layering.

The cat image was stamped in black ink onto a Basic White circle die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. I colored the image using Basic Black and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends. I love how that little black cat is peeking out from underneath the witch’s hat!

The “Trick or Treat” sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder onto a Basic Black banner die cut with the Stylish Shapes dies. I finished the tag with a bow made from black Baker’s Twine and added black dots from the Bats, Ghosts and Dots embellishments around the card.

Don’t be afraid to mix different Designer Series Paper patterns on the same card! Choosing patterns from the same DSP pack makes it easy because the colors are already designed to coordinate. Try pairing one larger background pattern with a smaller piece as an accent.
