Ouch Bundle “Be Brave” Encouragement Card

Sometimes all it takes is a simple card to remind someone they’re stronger than they think. I love that this card could work for so many occasions—someone facing surgery, starting a new job – or heading back to school (think medical students and healthcare!), or just going through a tough season. The Ouch Bundle makes it easy to create cards that are encouraging without feeling too serious.

For this card, I started with a Basic Black card base to make the lighter colors really stand out. I cut three 1-1/4″ strips of the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper and layered each one onto a Basic White mat before adhering them across the card front. It’s such an easy layout, but the different patterns keep your eye moving across the design.

The bandages are stamped in Basic Beige ink on Basic Beige cardstock, then die cut with the coordinating dies. I added a sweet little Pool Party heart to the center of the top bandage for a fun pop of color. The “Be Brave” sentiment is stamped in Black ink and layered across the bandages to finish the focal point. A few Pool Party Array of Dots embellishments were the perfect finishing touch!

Patterned paper does a lot of the work for you! Try mixing several coordinating patterns in narrow strips like this to add interest without making your card feel busy.
