Radiant Sunflowers Card with Warm Fall Colors and Pretty Layers

Sunflowers just seem made for fall cardmaking, don’t they? This week I’m creating with the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle, and I started with a warm, cozy color combination of Pecan Pie, Early Espresso, Golden Glow and Old Olive. There are lots of layers and textures on this card, but they all work together without making the card feel too busy!

Handmade fall sunflower card featuring the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle, Sunflower Fields DSP, scalloped layers and a Pecan Pie embossed background.

I started with a Pecan Pie card base and added another layer of Pecan Pie cardstock embossed with the Rustic Check 3D Embossing Folder. I love using the same color for the card base and embossed layer because you get all that extra texture while still keeping the background subtle.

For the center of the card, I die cut a piece of Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper with the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies and popped it up with Dimensionals. And yes, Christmas dies can absolutely come out to play for a fall card! The scalloped shape is such a pretty frame for that sunflower pattern.

Across the center, I added a strip of Early Espresso cardstock with Old Olive Rickrack layered over it. The sentiment from the Radiant Sunflowers Bundle was stamped in Early Espresso ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock.

Of course, the sunflowers are the star of this one! I stamped them in Early Espresso ink onto Basic White cardstock and colored them with Golden Glow, Old Olive and Bronze Stampin’ Blends. I love how the deeper Early Espresso outline works with those warm fall colors. A few Moody Palette Glossy Dots finish everything off.

Don’t forget to look at your seasonal dies beyond the season they were designed for! Basic shapes like scallops, circles, tags and labels can be useful all year long. The Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies may have “Christmas” in the name, but this scalloped layer looks right at home with fall sunflowers.
