Sunset Coast Congratulations Card with Coastal Layers and Texture

Today’s card is another project featuring the beautiful new Sunset Coast bundle from the Scenic Coast suite, and this one has a softer coastal feel with lots of texture and layering. I love how simple the stamped scene is, but then the added fish netting, shells, and Linen Thread give it that extra beachy detail without making the card feel too busy.

This one would work perfectly for congratulations, retirement, graduation, or even a new adventure-themed card!

This card starts with a Thick Basic White card base. Along the left-hand side, I layered a strip of Country Woods Designer Series Paper with a strip of Night of Navy cardstock to help frame the design and bring in some rich contrast.

The coastal scene is stamped directly onto the card front using Blueberry Bushel ink for the water. One of my favorite little details is the sky — after stamping the water, I flipped the stamp upside down and stamped again without reinking to create the soft reflected sky effect. I masked the waterline with a post-it note before stamping the sun in Golden Glow ink so the horizon stayed crisp and clean.

The fish net is die cut from Very Vanilla cardstock, and I layered in die cut shells from Basic Beige cardstock for extra texture and dimension. I added a bow with Linen Thread.

The sentiment is heat embossed in white onto a Golden Glow banner die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies. I finished the card with a few Golden Glow Dots for just the right finishing touch.

Try using your stamps in unexpected ways! Flipping a water stamp upside down and stamping again without reinking creates a soft reflected sky effect that adds extra depth with almost no additional effort.
