Sunset Coast Fun Fold Card with Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper

I had to finish off this week’s Sunset Coast bundle projects with a fun fold card because the Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper is just too pretty not to show off! The gorgeous sunset scene across the panels almost looks like a painting, and this fold lets you enjoy the full view while still adding fun layered details to the front.

This card was inspired by Rachel Tessman, and I absolutely love how dramatic it looks when opened up!

This fun fold starts with a Basic Black cardstock base layered with pieces of the Scenic Coast Designer Series Paper. To create the fold, I cut the DSP down to 6″ x 5-1/4″, then cut it vertically from left to right at 2-3/4″ and 1-1/8″ to create the three sections that fold beautifully together.

The bold sunset colors in the DSP really do all the work here, so I kept the embellishing fairly simple. On the front panel, I layered a die cut fish net in Basic White behind the sentiment circle to add texture and contrast against the dark card base.

The sentiment is stamped in black ink onto a Basic White circle punched with the 2″ Circle Punch. I added die cut shells in Melon Mambo to tie into the bright sunset colors in the paper — two shells on the front and one on the inside panel. The final touch was a few Sunset Shimmer Sequins for sparkle.

Inside the card, I added a Basic White panel for writing a message while still allowing that gorgeous sunset DSP to shine through across the fold.

Large scenic Designer Series Paper patterns work beautifully for fun fold cards like this because the artwork continues across multiple panels. When cutting your DSP into sections like this, try lining up the horizon or focal image so the full scene flows naturally across the fold.
