Freebie Friday: Christmas Mice Treat Box with Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies

How cute is this little Christmas mouse?! I love making treat boxes for the holidays, and the Christmas Mice Bundle was just begging to be used on one. The best part is that the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies gave me a fun way to create the decorative outside of the box without needing a special box die.

Pecan Pie Christmas treat box decorated with a stamped Christmas mouse, Mossy Meadow tree, white ribbon and Christmas ornaments.

For this Christmas treat box, I started with Pecan Pie cardstock and used the largest die from the Scalloped Christmas Cheer Dies to create the scalloped outside. I scored the die cut piece so it would fold around the box, then created a simple Pecan Pie box to adhere inside.

To decorate the top, I added a piece of Texture + Tone Mix In Designer Series Paper and wrapped White Textured Ribbon around the entire box, tying it in a bow at the front. I also added a Crumb Cake circle cut with the Spotlight in Nature Dies to give my little Christmas scene a place to sit.

The Christmas tree is die cut from Mossy Meadow cardstock. I stamped the mouse, Santa hat and ornament from the Christmas Mice bundle onto Basic White cardstock and colored everything with Pecan Pie, Ivory, Poppy Parade and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. After adhering the pieces together, I popped the mouse up on the box with Dimensionals.

And that little tree needed some decorations! I used the Christmas Epoxy Shapes to add the red ornaments and yellow star. Such a simple finishing touch, but they are absolutely perfect for this project!

Look at your larger dies in a different way when you’re making 3D projects! A large label or decorative die doesn’t have to be used only as a layer on a card. With a few score lines, it can become the decorative base for a box, treat holder or small gift.
